Conmebol fines Flamengo and Leonardo Jardim for second-half delay | OneFootball

According to Coluna Do Fla, Conmebol has fined Flamengo and head coach Leonardo Jardim for delaying the second-half restart against Independiente del Valle on 10 September in Quito, the Libertadores quarter-final first leg. The confederation issued its notice on Wednesday 23 September, and the club can still appeal.

Flamengo were fined 60,000 dollars and Jardim 40,000 dollars, a total of 100,000 dollars. The sums will be deducted from broadcasting and sponsorship monies due to the club.

The Disciplinary Commission applied the rule on late second-half restarts, which carries stricter terms in the knockouts. From the last 16, the minimum is 20,000 dollars for the club and 15,000 dollars for the coach per minute of delay, with coaches held personally responsible for punctuality.
