Manchester United reportedly retain their long-standing interest in Jarrad Branthwaite ahead of both 2027 windows.
That’s according to MailSport, which adds that the Red Devils could even make their move as early as January.

Of course, Everton will be closed off to the prospect of parting ways with their stalwart centre-half mid-season, so United would have to make their proposal a lucrative one.
If not, United will reignite their pursuit in the summer – three years after they had two bids rejected by the Toffees for Branthwaite.
Indeed, the Reds tried their luck back in June 2024 when submitting offers worth £35 million and, after that was swiftly rejected, £45m for the centre-half.
The second bid was rebuffed as quickly as the first, which prompted United to turn their attention elsewhere.
They ended up shelling out a combined £90.5m to bring in Leny Yoro (£52m) and Matthijs de Ligt (£38.5m).

It’s anticipated that INEOS will oversee a complete defensive revamp at the end of 2026/2027, having done so to the frontline last year and the midfield this year.
Branthwaite would be a respectable coup if they can get it over the line, given he is now a Premier League-proven option to have at the back.

However, it remains to be seen what the Merseyside outfit value him at now that he’s garnered more top-flight experience and eye-catching performances.
Against United at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in matchweek three, the 24-year-old earned a 7.0 rating from Fotmob.

He recorded an 89 per cent passing accuracy and 100 per cent shot accuracy, as well as making four blocks, four clearances, four recoveries and two interceptions.
Branthwaite also did his bit in attack, too, by notching 12 line-breaking passes and five final-third passes.
