FC Bayern is continuing its squad planning for the future and has secured a promising talent
The German record champions have officially announced that 16-year-old Matteo Maric will move from RB Salzburg to the FC Bayern Campus next summer. The Austrian junior international has already signed a long-term contract with the Munich club
Maric comes from Linz and only joined the RB Salzburg academy in 2024, where he most recently played for the Red Bulls‘ U18s and quickly established himself as one of the most exciting talents of his age group
With the signing of Maric, FC Bayern is once again underlining its strategy of investing in young players with development potential. The campus has become increasingly important in recent years, with more and more talented players making the leap into the professional ranks or at least into the extended squad
Those responsible are also pursuing a clear plan for Maric: the 16-year-old is to be developed step by step at the Campus and gradually introduced to the transitional area to the professional squad
Jochen Sauer, Director of Youth Development at FC Bayern, was correspondingly impressed by the new signing: „We have been observing Matteo over a longer period of time. For us, he is one of the most promising talents of his age group in Austria and we are convinced that he will be a reinforcement for our academy,“ said Sauer

He added: „We are delighted that Matteo will be taking his next steps towards the transition area at the campus and are very excited about his development with us.“
For FC Bayern, the transfer is a further building block in its long-term youth development strategy, which continues to focus on signing highly talented players at an early stage and offering them optimal conditions for their development in Munich.
