Copa America 2024 has come and gone as Argentina lifted their second successive title with a narrow victory over Colombia in the final.
The latest Copa America tournament has come to a close as La Albiceleste reclaimed their seat at the CONMEBOL throne for the second consecutive competition. The 2024 edition had it all with all kinds of goals scored and upsets across the competition as Colombia came so close to taking down Lionel Messi's Argentina.
The Argentina defense stood strong to help Emiliano Martinez enjoy nearly a perfect tournament in goal, a certain Inter Milan forward finally found his shooting boots in the bright lights for Argentina and Colombia just couldn't stop scoring up until the final match at Hard Rock Stadium.

Inter Milan star striker Lautaro Martinez claimed the Copa America Golden Boot after notching six goals in six appearances for Argentina. The 26-year-old managed four of those six strikes during the group stage before putting the cherry on top and scoring the winning goal for La Albiceleste in the 112th minute in the final against Colombia.

James Rodriguez truly turned back the clock this summer with some vintage performances for Colombia. The 32-year-old who's played for the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and AS Monaco tallied six assists (and one goal) throughout the competition to lead Colombia to the final before they came up just short against the back-to-back champions.

The Copa America runners-up Colombia would go on to find the back of the 12 times in six matches played before losing in the final. Nestor Lorenzo's team was propelled in front of goal by Daniel Munoz, Luis Diaz, Jhon Cordoba and Jefferson Lerma as all four players logged four goals.

Copa America 2024 saw goals galore across the near month-long tournament, as 70 goals were scored from the first kick-off in Atlanta, Georgia at Mercedes-Benz Stadium all the way to the final match in Miami, Florida at Hard Rock Stadium. Argentina went on to score the final goal of the campaign thanks to Martinez while his teammate Julian Alvarez bagged the first goal of the tournament against Canada on June 20.
The highest scoring match at Copa America ended up being a three-way tie as Uruguay hammered Bolivia 5-0 and Brazil pummeled Paraguay 4-1 in the group stage, while Colombia throttled Panama 5-0 in the quarter-finals.

Aston Villa shot-stopper Emiliano 'Emi' Martinez came up clutch for Argentina throughout Copa America as he recorded five clean sheets to lead his nation to their 16th title. The 31-year-old conceded just one goal across six matches played, while Colombia's Camilo Vargas and Uruguay's Sergio Rochet each kept three clean sheets apiece.
