According to L’Équipe, Corentin Tolisso is expected to sign a two-year extension at Lyon to 2029, with a reduced salary to ease the wage bill.

The 31-year-old midfielder and club captain would extend a contract currently running to 2027, seeking more time to pursue a trophy with his boyhood side.

If completed, the new deal would keep him at OL until 30 June 2029, when he will be 34.

Tolisso was Lyon’s top scorer last season, delivering 15 goals and six assists in 39 matches across all competitions.

As the squad’s highest-paid player and a 2018 World Cup winner, trimming his wages would help OL stay within DNCG limits after a 20 June ruling that capped the club’s payroll.
