Corinthians visit Pato at 17:00 on Saturday at Arena Cláudio Petrycoski, Paraná, for the second LNF playoff meeting, needing a result to reach the last 16 and halt a long barren run in the state.
As reported by Meu Timao, the stakes are clear.
The first game on Monday ended 1-1 at Ginásio Wlamir Marques. Maicon struck first for the hosts, then Rick levelled for Corinthians.
To advance, Corinthians must win in normal time. If the match is level after 40 minutes, it goes to extra time, where Pato progress with a draw thanks to a superior first-phase campaign. If Corinthians are beaten at any stage, they are out.
Recent trips to Paraná favour Pato, who won 6-3 on 28 March 2024 and 4-2 on 10 November 2018, with a 2-2 draw on 9 July 2022. Corinthians’ last away win there was 1-0 on 24 April 2017.
Corinthians also need their first away victory of this LNF season. They have four wins in 16 games, all at Wlamir Marques, with four draws and eight defeats on the road.
