Corinthians close in on signing Flamengo duo for under-20s

Sport Club Corinthians Paulista is close to officially announcing the arrival of two reinforcements for the youth categories. Defender Levy Dias, 17, and midfielder Christian Oliveira, 19, both former Clube de Regatas do Flamengo players, are expected to join the Under-20 squad throughout the season.

The information was initially published by TMC. According to reports, the two athletes became free agents after their contracts with the Rio de Janeiro club ended and are expected to sign a three-year deal with Corinthians, with no transfer costs.

Levy Dias chose not to extend his contract with Flamengo and has been available for negotiations since then. Considered one of the promising talents from Flamengo's youth academy, he was captain and a starter for the Under-17 team for much of 2025. The defender also participated in activities with the main squad. Last season, he scored five goals and lifted the Rio Cup and the Under-17 Carioca Championship trophies.

Christian Oliveira followed a similar path. The midfielder had a contract valid until this month and also decided not to renew. In the release agreement, Flamengo retained 10% of the player's economic rights. Having passed through the youth categories of the Brazilian National Team, he is already in São Paulo and has started training at the Corinthians training center.

In addition to the duo, the club from Parque São Jorge secured the signing of defender Yago Melo, 19, another player developed in Flamengo's youth academy, who had a contract until February 2027. Simultaneously, Corinthians also completed a one-season loan for defender Zé Antônio, 17, who belongs to Santa Cruz Futebol Clube.

Under the command of coach William Batista, the Corinthians Under-20 team begins its journey in the Brazilian Championship of the category this Saturday, February 21. The debut will be against América Futebol Clube, at 3 PM, at Fazendinha.
