Corinthians are close to agreeing the return of left-back Fabrizio Angileri for 2026, with head coach Dorival Júnior saying talks are well advanced and that he would count on the Argentine if it happens.

The club had not abandoned the idea and are optimistic because Angileri wants to remain at Parque São Jorge. Both sides shifted stance as Corinthians struggled to find a left-back on the terms they want, whether on loan or without a fee. Angileri has yet to commit to another team, so he remains on their radar.

He arrived in February after terminating his contract with Getafe in Spain. The club sought to extend his deal from August 2025, but negotiations stalled mainly over financial hurdles.

Angileri made 42 appearances for Corinthians, with 26 starts, added two assists and was part of the squads that won the Paulista and the Copa do Brasil.

At present, Dorival has only Hugo Farias as cover at left-back behind Matheus Bidu. Diego Palacios returned from a loan at Karpaty in Ukraine, then was moved on to Universidad Católica of Ecuador.
