According to Meu Timao, Corinthians have not closed the door on Fabrizio Angileri returning, but are taking a cautious approach after extension talks initially stalled.

The stumbling block was financial, with the player’s demands above the club’s established limit.

Even so, he is not considered out of the picture. Angileri remains fond of the club and stays in touch with staff, former team-mates and football department figures.

He has yet to find a new team and, as a free agent, is training on his own to keep fit.

Within the club there is a sense they could receive a revised proposal from his representatives in the coming days, which might open the door to a return.

In 2025 he was used regularly by coach Dorival Júnior, at times as a left-sided centre-back. He played 42 games, starting 26, and provided two assists.

At left-back, Matheus Bidu is first choice with Hugo in reserve. The club are monitoring alternatives for the role, but it is not a priority at present.
