Corinthians could be without 11 players for the next Brasileirão round against Vasco da Gama, with injuries, illness and suspensions thinning the squad. The latest setback is Kayke, who ruptured the ACL in his left knee during Tuesday’s Copa do Brasil win over Barra.
According to Meu Timao, long-term absentees include left-back Hugo Farias with a lateral meniscus injury, and forwards Memphis Depay and Gui Negão, both dealing with thigh problems. Depay and Gui Negão are training with the ball on a separate pitch, yet are likely to remain out.
Under-20 midfielder Gui Amorim has a grade 2 knee ligament injury. Defender João Pedro Tchoca is recovering from pubalgia and continues indoor work at the training ground. Charles has a right heel issue, right-back João Vitor Jacaré a hamstring strain, and André Luiz is sidelined by an acute viral illness.
Goalkeeper Hugo Souza returned to on-field work on Thursday after thigh discomfort, but he must serve a one-match suspension for insulting the officials under article 243-F following the Palmeiras derby on 12 April. Right-back Matheuzinho will also miss Vasco, completing a two-match ban under article 254-A after an incident involving Flaco López.
Corinthians face Vasco da Gama at Neo Química Arena on Sunday 26 at 16:00. Fernando Diniz’s players need a win to climb out of the Brasileirão relegation zone.
