Corinthians council clears former academy chiefs of expulsion | OneFootball

Former Corinthians academy directors Claudinei Alves and Valmir Costa have been cleared of expulsion from the club’s membership following a Deliberative Council vote on Saturday.

According to Meu Timao, Claudinei kept his place with 54 votes for his permanence, 38 for expulsion and two abstentions.

Valmir’s case returned 57 votes for absolution, 32 for expulsion and two abstentions.

The pair had been excluded over the invasion on 31 May, but in early July council president Romeu Tuma Júnior granted a suspensive effect to that decision.

Claudinei led the youth department from the start of Augusto Melo’s administration in 2024 until May 2026. Valmir served as deputy academy director and secretary-general during the same period. Together they were involved in the recruitment of 87 players for the under-17 and under-20 teams.

Also due to face a vote on the night, Paulo Cesar de Andrade Prado could return to the membership if the council follows the favourable opinion issued by the Associates’ Ethics Committee, which has also recommended his readmission to Parque São Jorge.

On Monday, the council expelled former councillors Manoel Ramos Evangelista, known as Mané da Carne, and Marcelo Mariano, called Marcelinho, both influential in Melo’s administration. Mario Mello Junior received a six-month suspension for the invasion.
