Corinthians’ Conselho Deliberativo president Romeu Tuma Júnior has created a technical study group to examine turning the club into a SAF and other financial routes, including judicial or extrajudicial recovery.
According to Globo.com, he named six specialists to the group, which has 60 days to deliver a report outlining technical conclusions, scenarios, risks, opportunities and recommendations to underpin future decisions based on objective criteria and verifiable data.
Tuma said the analysis should be deep and dispassionate, assessing whether a SAF, including one of Corinthians itself, or the associative model is the better path, and leaving an advisory opinion that sets out implications, advantages and disadvantages.
He added that although he had opposed a SAF, tax issues and a changed environment mean the club must study the option. He said external narratives are gaining influence, so matters need to be reviewed for legal reasons and because solutions are required.
The group comprises Andrei Kampff, Diego Faria Guilherme, Eduardo Dias, Fábio Prudente, Pablo Arruda and Robson Ramos Luis Bujato.
Corinthians’ gross debt is about R$ 2.8 billion, based on the club’s November 2025 balance sheet.
