Corinthians were beaten 2-1 by Chapecoense at Neo Química Arena on Sunday, a fourth consecutive Brasileirão loss, with defender Gustavo Henrique apologising to supporters.
Fernando Diniz’s side had already lost 2-1 to Cruzeiro and 2-1 to Coritiba, then 1-0 to Santos, with three of those defeats at home.
"The criticism is fair, it is consistent with what we have been showing, mainly in terms of results. It is a difficult spell. As you said, four defeats that cannot happen," he said, speaking to Amazon Prime Video.
"Now it is about switching focus, we have another final on Wednesday, another competition. And sorry to our supporters, who turned up again, put on a great show, but unfortunately we did not manage the win," he added. More than 44,000 fans were in attendance.
Corinthians visit Estudiantes of Argentina on Wednesday at 21:30 for the first leg of the Copa Libertadores quarter-finals.
