Corinthians visit Rosario Central at 21:30 on Thursday for the Copa Libertadores round of 16 first leg at Estádio Gigante de Arroyito, with Fernando Diniz potentially missing up to seven players.
Most absentees are in the treatment room. Zakaria Labyad has a ruptured ACL and meniscus in his left knee, while André Luiz sustained a grade 2 injury to his right hamstring.
The attack is also depleted. Yuri Alberto has a grade 2 injury to his right hamstring, Kayke is recovering from ACL surgery on his left knee and Vitinho is rehabbing after left knee meniscus surgery. Ge.globo reports that Kaio César has recently felt muscular discomfort in a thigh, leaving his involvement uncertain.
Another notable absence is Memphis Depay, whose contract expired on 31 July. He had been registered for the competition, and Diniz said at the weekend he hoped to use the Dutch forward if a new deal were signed.
No Corinthians player is one booking from suspension, so a yellow card on Thursday would not rule anyone out of next week’s return at Neo Química Arena.
Corinthians topped Group E with three wins, two draws and one defeat, collecting 11 points. Rosario Central finished second in Group H with 12 points from four wins, one draw and one defeat, conceding only one goal in the previous phase.
