Corinthians have fined Memphis Depay after he posted a music video featuring images of Parque São Jorge in flames.

The club said in a statement that it is adopting all contractual and legal measures it deems applicable to the episode.

Depay released the Don't Panic clip on Friday with references to the board and the club, a message that was poorly received internally. The sanction relates to protecting the institution's image under the terms of his contract.

Earlier, he described the video as an artistic work and distanced himself from any act of violence.

On Saturday morning, hundreds of supporters gathered outside Parque São Jorge in a pre-arranged protest, calling for judicial intervention and the resignation of club officials.

The club later spoke with the forward, and the footage had been recorded previously with no intention of linking it to recent protests, particularly Saturday morning's gathering. He regretted the timing and expressed a wish to act in line with the club's values.
