Corinthians hit back at Palmeiras after confirming Memphis Depay’s new deal, turning last week’s jibe on its head.
According to Globo.com, the club posted artwork of Memphis standing on the ball, a nod to the 2025 Paulista final, to promote a product. The post carried the caption "Recado de pai para filho", followed by "Recado de pai pra filho: rasguem os recibos".
After a turnaround, Corinthians and Memphis signed a contract running until 31 July 2028. The agreement was sealed on Monday night with approval from the Conselho de Orientação, Cori, and the Dutch forward visited CT Joaquim Grava on Tuesday.
The club have registered the deal in the CBF’s Boletim Informativo Diário, BID, clearing him to return to action.
The expectation is that he will be available to coach Fernando Diniz for the second leg of the Conmebol Libertadores round of 16 against Rosario Central at Neo Química Arena on Thursday at 21:30 Brasília time.
