Corinthians hold first public hearing to discuss statute reform this Monday

On the evening of this Monday (1st), Parque São Jorge will host the first of ten public hearings scheduled by the Corinthians Deliberative Council (CD), with the aim of debating the draft text of the statute reform. The document, which was prepared by a committee formed in February 2024 with contributions from council members, associates, collectives, and organized fan groups, was analyzed in a meeting of the body last Monday (24), but no agreement was reached to vote on it.

Instead of voting, the council members decided to create a schedule of hearings, with debates extending until February 2026. Each day of debates will be dedicated to a specific point of the draft text, in order to focus the discussions and cover the entire content of the document.

According to the didactic summary of the inaugural hearing, the chapters and provisions that “establish the structural foundations of the Statute, involving the institutional identity of Corinthians, the organization of the membership, and the definition of internal Powers” will be debated, present in articles 1 to 44 – except for article 21, which deals with Fiel Torcedor and will have its own exclusive hearing.

In other words, today’s conversations will revolve around defining the legal and organizational pillars of Corinthians, determining the basic foundations of the club, as well as definitions about which categories of members will be allowed and what the institutional architecture of the deliberative and control bodies will be – bearing in mind, however, that the format and functioning of these bodies will also be discussed in a dedicated hearing.

The press will be able to follow the debates, which take place at the Parque São Jorge Theater starting at 6 p.m. (Brasília time). However, broadcasting or recording of the meeting will not be allowed, according to the note released by the club regarding accreditation rules.

This will not be the only hearing taking place this week. This Friday (5th), the second meeting will be held, dedicated to debating the voting rights of Fiel Torcedor members. This hearing underwent a change of date and location, as it was originally scheduled for Thursday (4th) at the Parque São Jorge Theater, but will now take place the following day in the press room of Neo Química Arena.
