Corinthians learn 2026 Brasileirão Feminino rules and fixtures

On the afternoon of last Thursday (22), the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) released the Specific Regulations, the General Action Plan, and the Basic Schedule for the Women's Brasileirão. The competition, with Corinthians as the current and greatest champion, is scheduled to start on February 15, according to the base date.

As part of the tournament's expansion plan, this next edition will have 18 participants, two more than the 16 in recent years. This also means that the calendar will occupy two more dates than the previous format, using 23 matches. Additionally, the clubs that will compete in the first division of the Women's Brasileirão will earn a spot in the Women's Copa do Brasil.

The prize for the champion of the Women's Brasileirão is R$ 2 million, while the runner-up secures R$ 1 million. Corinthians will make its debut against Atlético-MG, away from home, about two weeks after returning from England – if they qualify for the grand final of the FIFA Women's Club World Cup, which starts on January 28.

The rest of the competition remains the same: the top eight teams qualify for the knockout stage, which begins in the quarterfinals. The decisions are made in two matches, with the team better placed in the initial phase having the home advantage, maintaining this advantage until the final.

The first derby is scheduled for the third round. Also away from home, Corinthians will face Palmeiras for the second time this season, as the Women's Super Cup will be contested between the two teams – also without home advantage for the Brabas. This first encounter, however, is scheduled for February 7.
