Corinthians lose three players for Grêmio clash in the Brasileirão

With a goal from midfielder Charles, Corinthians defeated Vitória 1-0 on the afternoon of Saturday, October 25, at Barradão Stadium, in a match valid for the 30th round of the Brazilian Championship. The victory placed the Corinthians team in ninth position with 39 points (10 wins, nine draws, and 11 losses – 32 goals scored and 35 conceded).

However, despite the victory, the Corinthians coaching staff suffered three significant losses for the team's next match in the national tournament: midfielders Raniele, José Martínez, and Breno Bidon. The first two were cautioned with a third yellow card, and the third was sent off in the latter half of the second half.

José Martínez received a yellow card at 37 minutes of the first half after a discussion with Vitória's midfielder Ronald. Raniele, on the other hand, was penalized in the added time of the first half – 47 minutes – after committing a foul on midfielder William Oliveira.

Midfielder Breno Bidon, finally, was sent off at 35 minutes of the second half – he had already received a yellow card at three minutes of the second half for a foul on midfielder Matheuzinho – after a harsh tackle with defender Lucas Halter.

As a result, for Corinthians' next commitment, Dorival Júnior will have the following options for the midfield: Charles, Ryan, Luiz Gustavo Bahia, and Dieguinho. Midfielder André, with a knee ligament injury, is expected to remain absent.

After defeating Vitória away from home in the national competition, Corinthians remains focused on the Brasileirão. In the next round, on November 2, at 4 p.m., the Alvinegro will host Grêmio at Neo Química Arena for the 31st round of the national competition.
