Corinthians part ways with full-back who never played for the Under-20s

On Monday afternoon (2), Corinthians officially announced, through the CBF's Daily Informative Bulletin (BID), the contract termination with right-back Guilherme Martins, 20 years old (2005). The player arrived at Parque São Jorge in April 2024, right at the beginning of the ousted president Augusto Melo's administration, coming from Ponte Preta.

In the Corinthians youth categories, he didn't even play for the U-20 team, spending most of his time in the now-defunct U-18/U-20B category – intended for players with few minutes on the pitch to maintain match rhythm and good physical condition. Guilherme was among the 29 players who were out of the club's plans and, consequently, training separately.

During his time at Corinthians, he was loaned to Tupã, where he played two matches in the 2025 São Paulo Cup. His contract with the Alvinegro was set to end at the end of this March. In recent months, besides the arrival of new signings, some players have been leaving the category, such as goalkeeper Arthur Borghi, defenders Guilherme Gama, Lucão, Ruan Victor, Fernando Vera, and Robert Lopes, as well as midfielders Thomas Lisboa, Tiaguinho, and forward Kauã Henrique.

In addition, Corinthians is also finalizing the loan of right-back Gabriel Caipira (2005) to Betim, from Minas Gerais, who will play in the Série D of the Brasileirão this season. Center-back Thierry and forward Léo Agostinho, both from 2005, are expected to be the next to leave the Alvinegro. Currently, the youth categories of the club from Parque São Jorge are managed by executive Erasmo Damiani.
