Corinthians posted their biggest home crowd of the season as they beat Rosario Central 1-0 on Thursday to reach the Copa Libertadores quarter-finals.

A crowd of 46,552 filled the Casa do Povo and celebrated Breno Bidon’s winner, struck 35 minutes into the second half. According to Meu Timao, the tie generated the club’s second-highest gate receipts of the year, R$ 3,818,916, just shy of the Paulistão derby’s R$ 3,854,774.

The turnout eclipsed this season’s previous highs against Palmeiras, 46,263 in the Brasileiro and 45,209 in the Paulistão. The Copa do Brasil last-16 second leg against Internacional drew 44,777, with the Paulistão clássico versus São Paulo at 44,405.

The triumph returns Corinthians to the last eight for the first time since 2022. They will face Estudiantes, with the two legs scheduled for 9 and 16 September.

Attention now shifts back to the Brasileiro. Corinthians visit Coritiba on Sunday at 19:30 at Couto Pereira.
