Corinthians president Osmar Stabile attended the São Paulo Public Prosecutor's Office on Monday afternoon, where he was questioned for about three hours. The session formed part of an inquiry into possible judicial intervention at the club.

With two lawyers and finance chief Pedro Soares present, he addressed issues tied to current and past administrations and complaints lodged since last year, including those from prosecutor Cássio Conserino and petitions from members and councillors.

The duration was seen as lengthy but in line with the volume and complexity of questions. The main aim was to add to the club's initial explanations and gauge whether the current structure can correct any irregularities and keep operations viable.

Prosecutors also asked Stabile to maintain a channel to supply documents deemed necessary to complete the probe, including recent contracts on sensitive topics. He is said to have guaranteed full cooperation from Corinthians.

Late in the hearing, there was a brief reference to the club's process to renew with striker Memphis Depay. This did not figure in the inquiry's questioning, treated by the prosecution as an act of management. The case file is sealed.

Before Stabile, the office heard judge and Corinthians councillor Leando Cano, who filed one of the private intervention requests. Further hearings are expected in the coming weeks and additional documents may be sought from the club. There is no timetable for the investigation to conclude.
