Corinthians sign standout Copinha midfielder for youth ranks

Late this Tuesday afternoon (3), Corinthians registered, in the CBF's Daily Information Bulletin (BID), the signing of midfielder Victor Michell, 16 years old, who stood out for Meia Noite, from Patrocínio Paulista, in the 2026 São Paulo Cup. The youngster arrives at Parque São Jorge on loan until the end of January 2027, with an option to buy for the Alvinegro.

The midfielder will initially reinforce the U-17 team, which this year will compete in the Brazilian Championship and the Paulista of the category. According to Meu Timão, if Corinthians wants to buy him outright, they will have to pay R$ 600,000 for 50% of his economic rights. Additionally, there is the possibility to buy another 20% for an extra R$ 1 million – the athlete has already shared his first images wearing the Corinthians shirt on social media.

Meia Noite, his former team, also announced this Tuesday (3) the player's move to Corinthians, celebrating the club's successful talent development process: “Serious work continues to bear great fruit at Esporte Clube Meia Noite SAF! We are very proud to announce the loan of our athlete Vitor Michel to Corinthians, a giant of Brazilian football. The contract runs until 01/31/2027 and includes a purchase option at the end of the term. We continue to work hard and thank the athlete, his family, and the Corinthians board for their trust,” said the team in a statement.

A natural defensive midfielder, Victor Michell's main attributes are his physical strength and height – 1.84m. In Meia Noite's campaign in the 2026 São Paulo Cup, he was a starter for the team. In Brazil's most important youth competition, the team from the interior of São Paulo – a business project focused on developing athletes – finished second in Group 14, behind only Ponte Preta, and was eliminated by Cruzeiro in the second round.

On Monday (2), Corinthians also registered the arrival of two other players for the U-17: midfielder Ji-Paraná, 16 years old, and forward Laerte Júnior, 17, who played for União Cacoalense, from Rondônia, in the 2026 Copinha.
