Corinthians held their penultimate session on Friday morning ahead of Chapecoense in the 26th round of the Brasileirão, with kick-off on Sunday 6 at 19:30 at Neo Química Arena.
The club said in a statement that players began with gym activation at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava, then warmed up on the pitch, before Fernando Diniz led tactical work. Preparation concludes on Saturday afternoon.
The squad received a visit from Pedro, the boy who made headlines last Sunday after asking for a Neymar shirt and being abused by Corinthians supporters at Neo Química Arena. The incident led to a R$10,000 fine handed down by the STJD.
The main absence remains striker Yuri Alberto, who has suffered a setback in his right thigh recovery and is likely to miss Chapecoense. He is also a doubt for Estudiantes in the Libertadores quarter-finals on Wednesday.
André Luiz, with a hamstring injury, and André Ramalho, who is treating labyrinthitis, trained separately and are not expected to be available. Zakaria Labyad and Kayke have ligament injuries and remain in the medical department, while Vitinho is in physical transition and working partially with the group.
Diniz must also account for suspensions to Hugo Souza, Gabriel Paulista and Raniele for the accumulation of three yellow cards. In better news, André Carrillo and Lingard, absent for the clássico, have trained without restrictions, and Memphis Depay has taken part in the past two sessions.
Corinthians are aiming to halt a run of three straight league defeats to Cruzeiro, Coritiba and Santos. They sit 10th on 32 points.
