Corinthians will pause for two days before preparing for Santos next Sunday. According to Central do Timão, the squad will rest on Monday and Tuesday, then return to work on Wednesday at CT Joaquim Grava.

The pause comes after a 2-1 defeat to Coritiba at Couto Pereira in Curitiba on Sunday in the Brasileirão. The team will leave the city before reporting back midweek.

Since the calendar resumed after the World Cup pause, this is their first week without an official game. The gap exists because Corinthians were eliminated by Internacional in the Copa do Brasil last 16. Quarter-final first legs are set for 25-27 August, with returns next week in September.

Over the past month, from the league win over Remo to Sunday’s loss, they played 10 matches. The sequence brought four wins, three draws and three defeats across the Brasileirão, Copa do Brasil and Libertadores. Despite the cup exit, they reached the Libertadores quarter-finals.

With two competitions remaining, focus shifts to the Clássico Alvinegro on Sunday, 30. Kick-off against Santos is at 16:00 at Neo Química Arena in the 25th round of the Brasileirão.
