According to Café do Setorista, Corinthians have paid early the third instalment in their agreement with the CNRD, a CBF body, before the deadline on the 17th. The club aims to lift the national transfer ban, in place since 20 October, by complying with the schedule. The instalment was about R$ 7.2 million.

In late December, the CNRD panel rejected a request to end the registration suspension. It ruled that new registrations will only resume upon proof of a change of conduct by the club. Corinthians had been a few days late on the first two quarterly payments of the R$ 76 million agreement.

The CNRD package consolidates domestic debts owed to clubs, intermediaries and players. The largest creditor is Cuiabá, at around R$ 18 million from the 2024 transfer of Raniele.

The club is speeding up steps to clear liabilities so it can register additions. On Tuesday, Corinthians resumed talks with Santos Laguna of Mexico to resolve final hurdles related to the Fifa transfer ban imposed in August last year. The debt is about R$ 40 million for Ecuadorian centre-back Félix Torres.

On Monday, the board avoided a fresh ban by renegotiating what was owed to Paraguayan midfielder Matías Rojas. The figure was reduced from approximately R$ 49 million to about R$ 41 million, with two instalments already paid after the removal of interest, fines and fees.

The transfer window opened on Monday 5 and closes on 3 March.
