Gui Bom suffers confirmed knee injury, ruled out for Corinthians in Copinha

Removed from Corinthians' list for the 2026 Copinha, forward Gui Bom was evaluated by the club's medical department after feeling pain in his left knee. The tests confirmed a strain in the lateral collateral ligament, suffered during the team's penultimate training session before the start of the competition.

According to Meu Timão, during the evaluation, doctors also found that the player had not yet fully recovered from a grade 1 anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, which occurred at the end of the 2025 season. As a result, the club began to consider that the current issue might be related to a partial compromise of the ACL.

Given the clinical situation, Corinthians is considering the possibility of subjecting the athlete to surgery to ensure full recovery of the left knee. A decision regarding the procedure is expected in the coming days.

If the surgical intervention is confirmed, Gui Bom's treatment will be managed by the club's professional football medical department. The estimated recovery time for a lateral collateral ligament injury can range from three to nine months, depending on clinical progress.

Gui Bom is considered one of the main highlights of Corinthians' 2008 generation and has already been called up for the Brazilian National Team's youth categories. In 2025, he served as captain of the Under-17 team and ended the season with 11 goals and four assists in 14 matches.

Recently, the forward signed a contract addendum with Corinthians, which set release clauses of approximately R$ 50 million for the national market and 40 million euros for international transfers.

Without the young player, coach William Batista has Luiz Fábio Favela, Nicolas Araújo, and Kayque Dallaqua Tupã as alternatives for the offensive sector in the 2026 Copinha.
