Corinthians beat Peñarol 2-0 on Thursday night to complete the opening three rounds of the Copa Libertadores with the tournament’s standout record, three wins from three.

According to Meu Timao, Corinthians are level on nine points with Independiente Rivadavia of Argentina, but lead the overall table on goal difference, six to five.

Among Brazilian clubs, Flamengo sit closest on seven points after two wins and a draw. Mirassol and Cruzeiro have six apiece, each with two victories and one defeat. Fluminense have one point from a draw and two losses and are bottom of their group.

Within Corinthians’ group, Platense are second on six points. Independiente Santa Fe are third on one, the same return as Peñarol across all criteria, though the Montevideo side sit last due to a higher number of red cards.

Corinthians now switch to domestic duty on Sunday, visiting Mirassol at Estádio José Maria de Campos Maia at 20:30 in the 14th round of the Brasileirão.
