The final night of the Conmebol Nations League featured three Corinthians starters, as Gisela Robledo helped Colombia beat Paraguay, while Dayana Rodríguez’s Venezuela faced Belén Aquino’s Uruguay. Of the trio, only Robledo secured direct qualification for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
Colombia had already sealed their place on Friday thanks to the forward’s goal, and they closed with a 4-3 win to finish top on 20 points. Argentina join them as South America’s other direct qualifiers. According to Meu Timao, Brazil did not take part as 2027 hosts and are already in.
Rodríguez played in a 1-1 draw with Uruguay, a result that left Venezuela third on 12 points. Along with Ecuador, they now enter a play-off involving eight other nations from different continents for the two remaining places.
Aquino went into the match knowing Uruguay would miss the finals, but she did create the goal for Pamela González. Uruguay managed only six points across eight rounds and finished eighth.
The three Brabas now head into a holiday period with the rest of the squad. They will rest from 10 to 24 June, returning on 25. That gives them three weeks to prepare for Corinthians’ next match, at home to Ferroviária on 17 July in the fourth round of the Paulistão Feminino.
