Could a transfer to Ipswich Town help Zian Flemming become part of Xavi’s new look Netherlands team?

According to Joost Blaauwhof, Zian Flemming could be returning to the Premier League. Burnley and Ipswich Town are in negotiations, with Flemming having already agreed terms with Premier League new boys Ipswich Town. If Ipswich and Burnley can agree a fee, Flemming will get a chance to return to the Premier League.
This could be perfect timing for the forward, with a new head coach in charge of the Dutch national team. Eyebrows were raised ahead of the 2026 World Cup when Ronald Koeman appeared to admit that he hadn’t even considered Flemming, replying ‘who‘ when asked why a striker with 11 goals in the Premier League wasn’t part of the squad. With Koeman gone, and Xavi now in charge, Flemming has a chance to insert himself into the former Barcelona midfielders plans for the Dutch national team.
It appears clear that, after the World Cup, the Netherlands could do with another younger striking option. Memphis Depay’s injury concerns and Wout Weghorst’s advancing years has opened up an opportunity for the likes of the 28-year-old Flemming to join the Orange set up. If he can out perform Sunderland’s Brian Brobbey, who was a rare bright spot for the Dutch in what was a disappointing World Cup, he will certainly have a chance.
Ipswich fans will certainly hope that Flemming can go better than he did for Burnley last season. If he does, he may well find himself representing the Dutch national team at some point in the next 12 months.
