Coventry City have agreed a £six million deal to sign Brentford centre-back Ethan Pinnock, 33.
According to NY Times, the package is £five million plus £one million in add-ons, and the Jamaica international will sign a three-year contract with an option of a further 12 months. He has been cleared to travel for a medical.
He would become Coventry’s ninth summer addition and the second at centre-back after Aurele Amenda arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt in July. He did not feature in Brentford’s season-opening win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Pinnock joined Brentford from Barnsley in 2019 and has made 216 appearances, scoring 12 and supplying seven assists, helping their 2020-21 promotion from the Championship.
He has fallen down the pecking order, not coming off the bench in the final eight Premier League matches of 2024-25 and making only eight appearances last term, four in the league. He is in the final year of his Brentford contract.
He has 28 caps for Jamaica and played every minute of their World Cup qualification play-offs, beating New Caledonia before losing after extra time to the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final.
