Pinnock made four Premier League appearances last season, totalling 321 minutes, and featured four times in the cups.

He joined from Barnsley in 2019 and has played 216 games for Brentford, scoring 12 goals. He helped their 2020-21 promotion, playing 39 league matches.

The Bees number five replaced Kristoffer Ajer in the 71st minute of their final pre-season friendly, a 7-0 win over Frankfurt.

Nathan Collins and Ajer started at centre-half in the 3-0 win over Spurs in the Premier League opener, while Sepp Van Den Berg is expected to miss the first few weeks with a groin issue. Jannick Schuster joined from RB Salzburg for £17m, but the 20-year-old is yet to make his competitive debut.
