Coventry City will be without Haji Wright for a number of weeks after the striker suffered a serious quad injury.
Manager Frank Lampard confirmed the United States international is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines, with the injury potentially keeping him out for up to 12 weeks.
“He won’t be available for a little while, he’s got a very serious quad injury which is disappointing for Haji and for us,” Lampard said ahead of the opening game of the season against Arsenal.
“It’s certainly going to be a number of weeks, could even be up to 12 weeks.”
Wright’s absence is a blow for Coventry as they prepare for their upcoming campaign, with the striker set for an extended period of rehabilitation.
However, Lampard was able to provide more encouraging updates on Ephron Mason-Clark and Jack Rudoni.
Both players have missed matches during pre-season but are expected to be back in contention for Coventry’s meeting with Arsenal.
