According to Superdeporte, Valencia CF officially opened pre-season on Thursday with medical check-ups at IMED, and Cristian Rivero was the earliest arrival, reaching around 8:20am.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper begins a new campaign under Carlos Corberán, initially behind Stole Dimitrievski, while any further goalkeeping addition remains unclear. Valencia Mestalla striker Mario Domínguez, who will work with the first team this summer, was next through the door.

Hugo Duro followed as the third arrival, then Rioja and Gayà. Players will continue to report throughout the week before training begins under Corberán and his staff on Monday 6 July. The first to set foot at Paterna was new signing Justin de Haas.

Valencia will stage pre-season in Paterna, at the Royalverd Training Center in Girona, and at St. George's Park in England. Six friendlies are scheduled, against Petro de Luanda on 18 July, CD Eldense on 22 July, and CD Castellón on 25 July.

They then face Derby County on 28 July, Stoke City on 1 August, and Newcastle on 8 August. The Newcastle fixture will act as the team’s presentation at Mestalla and will include the Trofeu Taronja.
