Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to the Al-Nassr squad and could feature against Al-Fateh on Saturday after his protest. According to Goal.com, the forward missed three matches after frustration with the Public Investment Fund during the January window.

His last outing was on 30 January, when he scored in a win over Al-Kholood alongside Mohamed Simakan and Kingsley Coman. In his absence, Jorge Jesus' side recorded three straight victories without conceding.

He returned to training quickly and reports pointed to a swift recall. He now looks set to rejoin Coman, Joao Felix and Sadio Mane in the matchday group.

The 41-year-old return is a boost despite a seven-game winning run. He has 17 league goals this season, with only Ivan Toney on 20 and Julian Quinones on 18 ahead of him.

Al-Nassr sit third and, with victory at Maydan Tamweel Al‑Oula, could move second and within a point of Al-Hilal. Al-Hilal beat Al-Ettifaq 2-0 on Friday through Mohamed Kanno and Salem Al-Dawsari.

Ronaldo has targeted 1,000 career goals. He is on 961, 39 short, and his future beyond this campaign remains unresolved.
