Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Al-Nassr is again under scrutiny amid Saudi Pro League tension, with talk of a sensational Manchester United return resurfacing as he assesses his options at 41.
"No way. It won't happen, there are a number of reasons why it won't, they aren't even going to consider it and to be honest I don't think Ronaldo will either." He told Football Insider.
Ronaldo is under contract in Saudi Arabia until 2027 on what is billed as the world’s most lucrative deal, worth close to £500,000 a day.
He is frustrated by how Saudi Public Investment Fund resources are being distributed, in his view favouring others, as he chases another league title. He went on strike and sat out three matches. He is back in training and is expected to be available for Al-Nassr’s next fixture.
A release clause in his Riyadh agreement can be triggered at €50 million, and some have suggested he could even depart for free if he pushes to leave.
Former team-mate Wes Brown said he cannot see a third United spell, adding that MLS or a return to Portugal could be possibilities and that Ronaldo still wants to stay fit for the World Cup.
