Cruzeiro fan fumes at Lucas Paquetá’s dance after Flamengo equaliser | OneFootball

A Cruzeiro supporter reacted furiously to Lucas Paquetá’s celebration at the Mineirão, after the Flamengo midfielder copied Arroyo’s earlier dance following his equaliser in the Copa Libertadores last 16 first leg.

According to Coluna Do Fla, a viral social media video captured the fan unleashing expletives at Paquetá’s shoulder-shimmy during the celebrations.

The hosts had gone ahead and Arroyo marked it with a dance. Flamengo levelled when an Ayrton Lucas free-kick was headed onto the post by Léo Ortiz, and Paquetá slammed in the rebound.

Paquetá first gestured towards the Cruzeiro crowd, opening and closing his hand as if asking for calm or silence, then broke into a short dance that further irked home fans.

Post-match he declined CONMEBOL’s customary offer for scorers to select a song, saying he preferred to show respect for the opponents and keep focus on the competition.

The midfielder featured only after the interval, still short of match rhythm following an injury at the last World Cup.

With Lucas Paquetá available, Flamengo host Cruzeiro at the Maracanã on Wednesday 19 in the return leg. Before that, they face Mirassol in the Brasileirão on Sunday 16 at Estádio Maião.
