A historic night awaits Crystal Palace on Thursday as they play their first-ever match in a major European group stage competition, facing Dynamo Kyiv in the UEFA Conference League.
The occasion marks a huge milestone for the club, who qualified for Europe by winning their first-ever FA Cup last season.
The Eagles travel to the neutral venue in Poland as one of Europe’s most in-form teams, currently on a remarkable 18-match unbeaten run. Their stunning 2-1 win over league leaders Liverpool on Saturday has put them in a perfect frame of mind. Led by European specialist Oliver Glasner, who won the 2022 Europa League, they will be confident of starting their campaign with a victory.
Oliver Glasner has a strong squad to choose from for this historic fixture, though he is still without the injured trio of Cheick Doucouré, Chadi Riad, and Caleb Kporha. Goalkeeper Walter Benítez is also unavailable. Captain Marc Guehi will lead a formidable back three alongside Maxence Lacroix and Chris Richards.
In the wing-back positions, Borna Sosa will be pushing Tyrick Mitchell for a start on the left. Jean-Philippe Mateta is expected to lead the line, with Justin Devenny and Yéremy Pino providing creative support in the advanced roles.
Crystal Palace predicted XI: Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Wharton, Hughes, Sosa; Sarr, Pino; Mateta
The Conference League fixture will be played at the Motor Lublin Arena in Poland on Thursday, 2 October 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 5:45 pm BST.
The match will be broadcast live on TNT Sports and discovery+ in the UK. Coverage begins at 5:15 pm BST.
