Fatih Karagümrük beat Gençlerbirliği 1-0 at the Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadı to end a three-match winless run in the relegation battle.
In the 17th minute, Tiago Cukur glanced in Igor Lichnovsky's headed pass from a set piece to put Karagümrük ahead.
A penalty was awarded after a foul by Lichnovsky. VAR confirmed the spot kick, but Metehan Mimaroğlu's effort was saved by Ivo Grbić in the fifth minute of first half stoppage time.
After the restart, substitutes Sam Larsson and Sérgio António de Luiz Junior added fresh legs for the hosts, while Grbić stayed sharp to protect the lead.
Gençlerbirliği controlled long spells, finishing with 63.1% possession and 13 attempts. Karagümrük, who leaned on their defence, made 30 clearances and registered two shots on target from six attempts.
