Dani Parejo is targeting one final season, seeking a one-year contract that fits as he weighs the last chapter of his career.

He wants a team where he can be central and that matches his style, and although LaLiga, Segunda and overseas clubs have sounded him out, none has fully convinced him. "I want to think about it with my family, I have three children, I have been living in Valencia for 15 years, they are very settled here and I would like to play, but I have to rest and think with my wife and choose if an ideal place comes up that I like. The club, its way of playing and a city that is comfortable for my family." He told Cadena SER’s El Larguero in May.

While he waits to join a squad, even with the market now closed, he is training to stay sharp. He has not missed a game through injury since 8 February 2024 and has been unavailable only 18 times across his career, set against 793 matches for Castilla, Real Madrid, QPR, Getafe, Valencia and Villarreal.

Under Marcelino at Villarreal last season his minutes dipped to 1,689, yet he remained important, alternating starts with late cameos in LaLiga, and he featured in almost every Champions League game.

Fifth on LaLiga’s all-time appearance list, he wants one last campaign to prove there is still plenty in his boots, then to hang them up after matchday 38.

Parejo expects to stay in the game and has long been preparing to coach. "I would like first to join a coaching staff as an assistant who understands football a bit as I see it and be able to live with them day to day... To learn how to prepare videos, how to prepare press conferences, how to face different situations or problems inside a dressing room..." He said in 2024.
