Daniel Farke has ruled out new Leeds United signing Harry Wilson for Crystal Palace, while confirming Ilia Gruev is available for Sunday’s Elland Road fixture, the last before an extended international break.

Leeds are unbeaten in the Premier League after four matches, two wins and two draws, following Monday night’s 4-1 dismantling of Newcastle United. It is their first four-game unbeaten start in the top flight since David O’Leary’s 01-02 side.

Gruev returned to action with the under-21s earlier this week, playing close to 90 minutes, and Farke said that has him ready for the weekend.

Wilson picked up a quad issue, with problems after the last game and during the training week, and will miss Palace, as well as Wales’ games.

After the midweek rout, it would be a surprise if Farke made changes for Palace. Nico Elvedi and Ao Tanaka are not yet cemented but impressed and strengthened their claims.

James Justin is likely to continue on the right of the back three with Joe Rodon also missing. Wilson’s absence is a setback, though it is not expected to alter the shape.
