Daniel Farke faces a summer rebuild to cement Leeds in the Premier League after finishing 14th, and the long-running goalkeeping issue is set to top the list. According to Football Insider, Shakhtar Donetsk keeper Dmytro Riznyk has emerged on Leeds' radar.

Illan Meslier was dropped for Karl Darlow late in 2024/2025, then Lucas Perri arrived in July 2025 but failed to convince, prompting Darlow's return to the XI. Both Meslier and Darlow are set to leave as free agents.

Perri, signed for £15.6m, was intended as the long-term number one but his form dipped. Darlow produced strong displays but his reinstatement underlined the club's doubts about the position.

Riznyk, 27, joined Shakhtar from Vorskla Poltava in 2023 and made 41 appearances last season with 22 clean sheets as they won the Ukrainian title by 12 points. The fee it would take to sign him is unclear.

After Shakhtar's Europa Conference League exit to Crystal Palace this season, Riznyk reflected that reaching the semi-finals was new for him and said they would aim to go further and win in future. In January Farke signalled the board knew his views on the window and that Leeds were looking to strengthen weaker areas. In April he hinted supporters could read between the lines on Darlow's future, and whether the 35-year-old would accept a back-up role, if Riznyk were to arrive, remains uncertain.
