Leeds United need reinforcements up front after Joel Piroe joined West Ham United on loan with an obligation to buy in a £12 million package, and Joe Gelhardt completed a £4.5 million to £6.5 million move to Hull City.
With Mateo Joseph likely to head back to Spain on loan once fit, Daniel Farke is left with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha as his only senior centre-forwards, so a proven goalscorer is a priority.
Ermedin Demirovic, long tracked by Leeds, remains a live option. Sky Deutschland reported on 23 July that Leeds, Juventus and Fenerbahce are monitoring the Bosnia international, and Stuttgart boss Sebastian Hoeness is said to be open to a sale at the right price. Demirovic hit 15 goals in 38 games in 2025-26 and suits Farke’s physical, link-up style.
Liam Delap is another candidate. The i Paper reported on 29 July that Leeds entered the race alongside Everton and Nottingham Forest for the Chelsea striker. He struggled for minutes last season, contributing two goals and four assists in 41 outings, though his 12-goal Premier League campaign with Ipswich Town the year before still appeals. Chelsea’s £35 million to £40 million valuation could be restrictive.
Ayase Ueda looks the most cost-effective and immediate option. The 27-year-old Feyenoord forward won the Eredivisie Golden Boot with 25 goals in 31 league matches last term and has already scored this season. Feyenoord are reportedly open to offers around £15 million, which represents strong value.
