Daniel Osvaldo remains in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Llavallol, Argentina, after emergency surgery for a severe pleural effusion in his right lung.

His prognosis is described as reserved, Clarín reported. His sister found him in a fragile condition at his home in Banfield and took him to hospital.

Ángel De Brito said a lung tissue resection had been performed and that two centimetres had been removed from each lung.
