Tottenham defender Kevin Danso has backed team-mate Antonin Kinsky to bounce back from his errors against Atletico Madrid.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper, who was handed his Champions League debut by head coach Igor Tudor during Spurs’ 5-2 round of 16 first leg defeat, conceded three goals inside 14 minutes, two of which came from errors by the Czechia U-21s international, before being substituted for usual first-choice Guglielmo Vicario in the 17th minute.
Danso hopes the young goalkeeper does not dwell on the incidents and expects him to bounce back.
“Yeah, it was a very difficult moment for him,” Danso said. “I think in football these kind of things happen, it’s just about not letting it affect him too much.
“It’s a difficult situation, but we as a team, we will definitely get around him.
“These things happen and unfortunately it happened to him today. He’s a great goalkeeper, and he’s definitely going to bounce back.”
With Tudor’s side just one point off the Premier League relegation zone, and a seemingly insurmountable task in the second leg, the Austrian defender has called on his side to pull through the tough times as they look to secure Premier League survival.
“We’re working very hard and each and every one of us is looking ourselves in the mirror, working hard and we want to turn this around.
“Everybody is giving everything they’ve got and it’s down to us to dig a little deeper.”
