Date set for West Brom’s Carabao Cup trip to Newcastle | OneFootball

West Bromwich Albion have learned the date for their Carabao Cup second-round tie at Newcastle United.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the Baggies will visit St James’s Park on Wednesday, 26 August, with kick-off at 7.45pm.

Tickets go on sale from Monday for what will be Albion’s first match at the venue with supporters allowed since 2018.

James Morrison’s team reached round two by beating Rotherham 4-1 last weekend, becoming the first Albion side in four years to progress beyond the opening stage.

Their last trip to Newcastle came in December 2020 in the Premier League, played behind closed doors due to lockdown restrictions during the pandemic.

The most recent occasion with fans present was in April 2018, when Matt Phillips scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory.
