David Soria hails Sevilla move for Juan Iglesias, says he is in the best form of his career | OneFootball

Getafe goalkeeper David Soria has endorsed Sevilla’s capture of Juan Iglesias, the right-back signing until 30 June 2030. Soria, a former Sevilla keeper from 2015 to 2018 and Iglesias’s team-mate at Getafe, believes the move suits both player and club.

“For us he is a big loss. He is an excellent person and an excellent professional.” He told El Pelotazo on Canal Sur Radio.

“He is in the best moment of his career. This year he has grown a lot and he helps you everywhere, on the pitch and off it. He will not disappoint.”

“He is a versatile player, physically very strong, and he will always deliver wherever you put him. It is a pleasure to have him in the team. Today, having a player who can produce immediately like Juan Iglesias raises the level of the squad.”

“We are friends, I gave him my view of what I experienced there, what life in Seville is like and what surrounds the club. Then he could make whatever decision he wanted.”

Sevilla have also confirmed Jon Guridi from Alavés as planning for next season takes shape. The blueprint includes the imminent arrival of defender Arouna Sangante, the departure of captain Nemanja Gudelj after seven seasons, and an attempt to keep Alexis Sánchez up front.
