According to Zona Mixta, Abdel Abqar has been offered to Sevilla in recent hours. The Getafe centre-back has emerged as a late option after the José María Giménez pursuit became complicated.

Abqar worked under Luis García Plaza at Alavés, which could ease any adaptation. Even so, he is not viewed as a priority and it remains uncertain whether Sevilla will move. Decision time is approaching in Nervión.

With Lucas Stassin and Félix Correia already signed, Sevilla shifted focus to one final addition, either a pivot or a centre-back. García Plaza favoured bolstering the back line, which put José María Giménez to the fore.

Interest from Valencia and, especially, Deportivo La Coruña altered that picture. The Atlético Madrid defender now appears likely to head to Riazor, so Sevilla have widened their search and Abqar’s proposal is on the table.

Born in Morocco in 1999, Abqar came through the Mohammed VI Academy, then Málaga, before joining Alavés in 2020. He broke into the first team in 2021, helped their 2022/23 promotion to LaLiga, later left Vitoria on a free in 2025 and signed for Getafe until June 2028, and he is a full Morocco international. A right-footed defender standing 1.88 metres, he is noted for physical strength and aggressive duels, although his intensity can bring a high number of bookings.
