De Zerbi hopeful of ‘one more’ Spurs signing as talks continue over Gakpo deal

Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi has revealed the club could make one more signing before the transfer window closes.

Hayters understands that Spurs are continuing talks over a move for Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, which would be dependant on the Reds completing the signing of Bradley Barcola.

“I didn’t expect a transfer market, one window, like we have done,” De Zerbi said.

“I think we can do one player more in one specific position.

“Yesterday we went for dinner with the owner, with Vinai, with Johan, and we spoke about this.

“We have all of us on the same page and there is a very good connection.”

Exits at Spurs are also likely, with De Zerbi admitting that Pape Matar Sarr could leave before the window shuts.
