Sunderland have entered the final hours of the summer window, with deal sheets offering a late lifeline for negotiations.

According to Sunderland Echo, this year's window opened on Monday, June 15th and will close at 11pm on Tuesday, September first, returning to a later evening deadline.

A deal sheet confirms an agreement before the deadline and grants two extra hours to finish paperwork. It can be filed from nine pm, provided it lands before the window shuts, taking completion through to one am.

Sunderland still have a couple of incomings in play. An initial loan for Tottenham Hotspur defender Kevin Danso, with a prospective permanent clause, is anticipated, and the club remain in the market for a winger.

Malick Fofana had looked set for Wearside after agreements with the player and Lyon, but a late move from Crystal Palace has hijacked the deal, and he could head to South London. Sunderland will presumably seek an alternative, and Benfica's Dodi Lukebakio has been touted as a possible option.
